Welcome, if you collect gingerbread or are looking for that unique gift, you’ve come to the right place. Every year we search high and low for new and special gifts to add to our store. Although not always possible, we try our best to support artists and small businesses that add that extra TLC to each product and craft each item right here in the USA. One gift item new to our store this year is the Cozy Cookie with its unique story. In nearby Ellensburg, two moms designed soft, fleece-lined gingerbread boys and girls filled with ginger spice and rice that can be heated to comfort their children like a heating pad, but cuter. They were so well received that the women decided to go into business, and thus the Cozy Cookie was born. But there’s more. They decided to create the Baker’s Dozen Program—for every dozen shipped, Cozy Cookie would donate the 13th to charity or donate to a special child in need. We thought this would be the perfect match for our store. And here’s why.

In 2004, a very good friend, Lynn McGuigan lost her short battle with cancer. Lynn, a speech pathologist at an elementary school, had a need in her heart to not only help her students on a professional level but she was passionate about making children’s lives better by helping those in need. She sponsored kids so they could attend camps, donated time or money to youth activities, and even chipped in to purchase a much-needed pair of soccer cleats. Lynn touched lives in so many ways. The one thing she asked her friends was that we remember her by helping others.

We at the Gingerbread Factory are blessed every week by seeing big smiley faces when a toddler sees a colorful gingerbread or sugar cookie in our case, so we decided to give back that joy in memory of Lynn. It seems a perfect fit to sell the gingerbread boy and girl Cozy Cookies. But, instead of Cozy Cookie bearing the cost of the 13th cookie, the Gingerbread Factory will pay for each 13th cookie from each dozen we buy and will also donate $1 to the Children’s Miracle Network (www.cmn.org) for each Cozy Cookie sold from our store. And you can help because the more we sell, the more we donate. We know that your son or daughter, niece or nephew, grandson or granddaughter will absolutely adore this gift.
